AP Bad Roads: #GoodMorningCMSir Trends Online

The bad roads in Andhra Pradesh haven’t improved. Even after several complaints and media reports and publicly the celebs visiting AP are vocal about the bad roads, there seems to be no respite to the people who are commuting. Not long ago, Chinna Jeeyar Swami who visited Rajahmundry, threw satires on his commute from Jangareddygudem to Rajahmundry. His comments have gone viral.

Two months ago, CM Jagan responded to all these criticisms and stated that the bad roads in the state would be repaired. He had proudly promised to repair the roads by July 15th and even claimed to begin a photo exhibition of roads from July 20th. With the date coinciding with today and there is no improvement of the roads’ condition, #GoodMorningCMSir is trending on social media platforms who are pointing out the poor condition of roads.

Earlier, Jagan administration had vowed to repair the roads by June 2022 as well and failed to live upto that deadline. CM Jagan had called on the concerned officials and directed them to repair 46000-km stretch of roads pot-hole free by June itself. The Roads & Buildings department is directed to take loans to do the repair works. This got postponed to July 15th and even till date, there is no major improvement.

It can be noted that the state government has levied Re 1 road development cess on petrol and diesel. The cess amount would be transferred to the Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation for exclusive use in developing road infrastructure. Despite this, there is no betterment in bad roads. Many netizens are now highlighting these points. Meanwhile, the public have become impatient and complaining of the poor roads as the commute became awful. The roads issue became a political agenda for opposition parties where TDP and Janasena publicly cornered Jagan’s government..

Earlier, some anonymous Janasena and TDP sympathisers had put some flexi boards with CM Jagan’s photo and written, “Jagananna Vunnadu Jagratha”. Now that #GoodMorningCMSir is trending online, we have to wait and see how YSRCP and CM Jagan’s react to this.
