Jagan Ignored, Chandrababu Deeply Hurt!

Opposition leader and TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu was insulted by none other than Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, if the TDP cadre is to be believed. The TDP activists said that their leader even returned from the venue even in the middle of the programme unable to withstand the insult.

Just a couple of days ago, Supreme Court former judge Justice Syed Abdul Nazeer had taken oath as the new Governor of Andhra Pradesh. High Court Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra administered the oath of office to the new Governor. The CM and his Cabinet was invited for the programme. Some special invitees also attended the programme.

Chandrababu Naidu was also invited as he is the Opposition leader and accordingly, the TDP boss too reached the venue. However, the TDP cadre said that Naidu was insulted at the programme.

They said that Naidu was seated beside the Legislative Council chairman while in fact, he should be provided a seat either beside the CM or at least in the same row.

After the new Governor had taken oath, the CM offered a boquet to Nazeer followed by the Chief Justice of the AP High Court. Then Naidu should do the honours to the new Governor but he was not invited to the stage.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy introduced all the important political leaders in the state, except Naidu, to the new Governor, which added to the insult.

Hurt with the negligence, Naidu stepped out of the Raj Bhavan. The ruling party leaders had been observing all this, the TDP leaders said.

The I&PR department which posted the new Governor’s oath taking ceremony online took all precautions to edit Chandrababu Naidu from the video, the TDP leaders alleged.

Without a ruling party and opposition parties, can the system be called a democracy? With this type of demeanour by the ruling party leaders, will a democracy survive?
