In connection with the Delhi Excise Policy (liquor scam) case, the CBI in its supplementary charge-sheet mentioned BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha Rao’s name and also made some interesting observations. CBI claimed that Kavitha used nearly 10 mobile phones to make the deal and played a crucial role in the background.
Probably for the first time, Kavitha opened up more about this liquor scam in interviews with multiple Telugu media houses. When asked about using ten phones, Kavitha acknowledged that she used and still has all the phones with her. But Kavitha was smart that she claimed she keeps her phones with her cook, party workers, her assistants and others.
“Usually I don’t carry phones with me but I use two contact numbers and I buy the latest models of iPhone and Samsung flagship models. I give my phones to my cook and party karyakarthas to keep in touch with them regularly. Whatever the CBI or ED has mentioned, I have all of them and I’m ready to submit them to the officers who are investigating the case,” said Kavitha.
On having a Rs 20 Lakh watch, Kavitha replied that she bought it. “Once in a while my husband gifts me expensive stuff or I buy accessories for myself. The watch that I’m wearing was bought by me. People can make money legitimately and they can have the luxury they desire for,” said Kavitha
The BRS MLC added that she is ready to go to the jail and that suggests that she has made up her mind that she is the next target as predicted by the BJP leaders who have first hand information on the liquor scam even before the CBI or ED takes further steps.
