When Naidu In Touch With Shah, Somu Challenges Him

Somu Veeraju

BJP Andhra Pradesh president Somu Veerraju fumed at TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu for his double standards on various issues. On one hand when Chandrababu in touch with Amit Shah and Modi in centre, Somu Veerraju criticism on Naidu shocks many.

In 2018, under the TDP rule, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s convoy was attacked in Tirupati and when some others tried to prevent it, Naidu foisted cases against them. Is this the way you behave with the leaders of the BJP with which you want to forge an alliance, Somu asked.

Naidu should change his demeanour. Somu said that Naidu should try to mean what he speaks. “I am ready for a debate with Naidu over several issues.”

During his roadshows, Naidu is demanding that the BJP-led Centre should accord Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, he wanted special package in place of special status. How can he keep changing his stand frequently, Somu pointed out.

Somu also reminded that Naidu claimed to be the kingmaker in the past. “When he could be a key leader at the Centre and influence the CMs of other states, why could he not get the SCS accorded for AP? He could also have ensured that special railway zone was granted for the Vizag area,” Somu ridiculed.

“This is the not the way Naidu should behave. He has to change. He is behaving like an opportunist.”

Naidu met the BJP bigwigs in Delhi and expressed his opinion. The BJP is a national party and our seniors will take a decision about the alliance, he said hinting at Naidu meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi recently.
