Following the arrest of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in alleged Skill Development Scam case, high tension prevailed in Andhra Pradesh. AP state police have house arrested TDP senior leaders and their important cadre all across the state in order to avoid any untoward incidents. As part of Yuva Galam padayatra, Nara Lokesh was in the Razole at the time of CBN’s arrest.
Lokesh cut short his yatra immediately and was on his way to Vijayawada to see Chandrababu Naidu in police custody. However, police officials have stopped Lokesh and blocked his movement. During this, Lokesh had a severe argument with police officials claiming every right to visit and see his father as a family member. He sat on the road in a protest against Chandrababu’s arrest.
Lokesh went on to question why Chandrababu Naidu was arrested even though his name was not mentioned in the FIR initially. Lokesh described this as implementing the “Rajareddy Constitution”. Lokesh referred to CM Jagan’s London visit and Naidu’s arrest and commented, “Pichodu London Ki, Manchodu Jail ki.” Lokesh said all that remains is that, “Happiness in the eyes of London Pichodu.” Lokesh also asked why the AP CID hadn’t made arrests in CM’s Babayi YS Vivekananda Reddy’s brutal murder. Meanwhile, police have reportedly restricted the media to approach Lokesh.
Earlier Chandrababu Naidu questioned his arrest with CID police and termed it as “illegal”. He said he has been served an Arrest Warrant without having his name in the FIR copy. Chandrababu also questioned the procedure of his arrest.
Meanwhile, police state that Chandrababu Naidu’s name is mentioned in the Remand Report. The CID officials state that they have provided the details to the Court related to the Skill Development Scam case and Naidu’s arrest is made based on this.
The CID Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), M Dhanunjayudu served notice to Chandrababu Naidu under 50(1) of CrPC. It is mentioned that Naidu has been arrested in crime number 29/2021 registered under sections 120(B), 166, 167, 418, 420, 468, 465, 471, 409, 201, 109 read with 34 and 37 of IPC and sections 12, 13(2) read with 13(1)(c)&(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act.
