6 Lakh Crores – YCP Gives New Figure To Chandrababu

The YCP government sounded the poll bugle with the arrest of Opposition leader and TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu. The YCP government alleged that Naidu had embezzled public funds worth Rs 6 lakh crore during his entire political journey.

“The allegations that Naidu was involved in swindling such huge funds has been raised only because there was talk that Jagan amassed assets worth Rs 1 lakh crore during his father’s rule. Our party chief has no track record of being involved in corruption of possessing disproportionate assets,” affirmed the TDP cadre.

While the YCP government says that it has taken time for the probe agencies and other departments to go into the details and file the case, the TDP leaders alleged that the arrest was done with an aim to tarnish the image of their party boss ahead of the 2024 Assembly elections and to lower the morale of their party cadre.

Sakshi, the Telugu news daily, published the details of all the schemes which became scams under Chandrababu Naidu’s rule. The TDP men alleged that the arrest of their party supremo was only an act of political vendetta. They reminded that even Jagan’s father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy also framed 26 cases against Naidu but could not produce evidences and convict him in any of the case.

The YCP dispensation, under the leadership of Jagan, had also tried to prove that Naidu was guilty in the Amaravati land scam. In the name of land pooling and the ORR, Naidu resorted to heavy corruption, Jagan alleged. Every irrigation project taken up under Naidu’s rule was riddled with corruption. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself said that the Polavaram project acted as Naidu’s ATM. The Skill Development scam is just the tip of an iceberg, YCP leaders opined.

Naidu began his political journey in 1978 and was involved in multiple scams since that day, the YCP said. The YCP leaders charged Naidu with being involved in money laundering and parking the ill-gotten wealth in foreign companies which was later diverted to his own accounts through shell companies.

“Both YSR and Jagan had been trying to put Naidu behind the bars only for political rivalry. Jagan was in the jail for 16 months and now, he wants Naidu also to suffer in the same position but it will never happen as he is not involved in corruption,” the TDP men said.

“All the evidences are there and we have ensured that Naidu will be convicted in the Rs 371-crore skill development scam. It started soon after Naidu came to power in 2014 and continued for three years till 2018 when a government whistleblower raised an alarm. Everything is in black and white and we are confident that the case will certainly see that the TDP is wiped off in the state,” the YCP said.

It has to be seen how the events would take shape amidst this trading of charges between the ruling and opposition parties.
