Get A Chance To See Naidu On Oct 17th

After 38 days, the public in Andhra Pradesh will get a chance to see TDP boss and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for the first time on October 16 (next Monday). He would be produced in person before the ACB court in Amaravati on October 17, as his remand period will get completed.

Naidu was lodged in the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail after being sent to 15-day judicial remand after being arrested in connection with the Skill Development scam on September 9.

On September 22, after his remand period was completed, he was produced in the ACB court through virtual mode. Then his remand has been extended by two more days and after that, there has been a third extension for two more weeks which ended today. However, the court ordered for further extension till October 17.

The court ordered the CID to file counter in connection with the bail petition filed by Naidu’s counsels, on October 17.

Naidu’s bail petition and quash petition in the High Court are being adjourned time and again. Even in the Supreme Court, Naidu’s quash petition was adjourned several times. It is scheduled to come up for hearing on October 13.

It has to be seen if there will be any reprieve for Naidu at least on October 17.

Meanwhile, there had been news of Naidu facing difficulty with the facilities in the jail. There were reports that he had problem with mosquitoes and the high temperature in the jail led to dehydration. Neither was an air conditioner provided to Naidu. To this, the YCP leaders reacted sarcastically and reminded that Naidu was not on a vacation but in the jail which meant that there would be some inconveniences associated with it. Further, they said that all these news reports are being churned out by the ‘yellow media’ to help Naidu gain sympathy from the public.

It has to be seen if Naidu’s counsels would be successful in convincing the courts, as the elections are approaching fast.
