Kasani Likely To Get Into BRS Car

Kasani-Gnaneshwar

There is speculation that T-TDP president Kasani Gyaneshwar Mudiraj is likely to shift loyalties to the BRS. It is learnt that Kasani was hurt after receiving orders from party boss N. Chandrababu Naidu not to contest the Assembly elections.

At the same time, the BRS is also ready to induct Kasani into its fold. In 2-3 days, Kasani is likely to formally join the BRS.

Earlier, Kasani declared that the TDP would contest from all the constituencies in Telangana. He tried to put in efforts to revive the party’s glory in the state. However, yesterday there was a declaration in the name of TDP scion N. Lokesh that their party would not contest the elections in Telangana.

Soon Mudiraj said that the information was not correct and that he would speak to Naidu and give clarity. Then he said that the T-TDP would contest from 89 segments. However, within hours, the TDP leadership changed its decision.

The TDP is of the opinion that if it contests the elections, the anti-BRS votes would get split and this would benefit the BRS.  It believes that this impact would be more pronounced in areas where the concentration of settlers is more, mainly belonging to the Kamma community. This would in turn ruin the winning prospects of the Congress, felt political analysts.

There is talk that the TDP had weighed all the options and then come to a decision to abstain from contesting in the polls to avoid damage to the Congress.

Many of the key Congress leaders are former TDP leaders.  The PCC chief Revanth Reddy himself is one such leader. There is buzz that Naidu took such a decision to keep the Congress’ winning prospects intact.

Significantly, the BRS did not allocate at least one ticket to the Mudiraj community, which is peeved that the ruling BRS has ignored them even when their votes count up to 50 lakh.  Neelam Madhu, belonging to the community who aspired to get the Patancheru BRS ticket, even got ready to fight with the ruling party for the ticket. Going in the damage control mode, the BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao inducted many of the Mudiraj leaders into his party.  Recently employee union leader Mamilla Rajender was also pulled into the BRS, after giving him VRS. Another leader Sankar of Amberpet was also pulled into the BRS fold.

It may be recalled that CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao made some interesting remarks on the Mudiraj community during his speech at Siddipet. KCR said that he was fed by a woman belonging to the Mudiraj community and that he had grown up to achieve separate Telangana. It is being said that KCR’s sudden love towards the Mudiraj community is in the wake of the elections. The party is also making its own calculations and is planning to induct Kasani into the party.
