YCP’s Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy Resigns

In the lead-up to the 2024 election, the ruling party in AP, YSR Congress has been dealt with a major shocker. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, who is one of the giant killers in the party has resigned from his MLA post. He submitted his resignation to the speaker.

Ramakrishna Reddy famously defeated Nara Lokesh from the Mangalagiri assembly constituency in the 2019 election. He hoped this win against Lokesh would secure him a cabinet berth but that didn’t happen in either of the two cabinet expansions in Jagan regime.

Vexed with the ignorance in YCP, Ramakrishna Reddy was hasty and stood away from the party activities for the last 2 years. And now all of a sudden, he has submitted his resignation from the MLA post. Latest reports are that Alla Ramakrishna Reddy has quit YCP as well. He has left the party. He is scheduled to address the media shortly and will reveal more details about the reasons for leaving YCP and also possibly speak about his future course of action.

With around 3 months for the elections, YS Jagan will have to find a capable MLA candidate to take on Lokesh in Mangalagiri. With Ramakrishna Reddy’s resignation, Lokesh will stand at advantage in the next election.
