Media Reports: CM Is ‘Missing’ Since 24 Hours

In a peculiar political incident, the chief minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren has gone missing for the last 24 hours. Several media reports are saying that the CM is not reachable by phone as it is switched off and his whereabouts are unknown.

Soren has been under the Enforcement Directorate’s radar for the last few months and the investigating agency is on the mission of tracking him. Fearing ED action, the CM is suspected to be on the run.

The ED has quoted that they have no clue about the CM’s whereabouts and even his staff’s phones are switched off. The charted plane which he boarded to reach Delhi is parked in Delhi and there are no further logs. The ED has seized the CM’s BMW car in Delhi and is on the search for him, but as of now, is clueless about his location.

Soren’s party, Mukti Morcha, however, has quoted that the CM is safe and sound. The party announced that Soren is in touch with them.

About the ED case, Soren is accused of being involved in an illegal land mafia deal, through which the land that belongs to the Indian Army was registered on fake names to others. The ED arrested 14 people in connection with the case and summoned CM Soren to appear for investigation. As the investigation is nearing the penultimate point, the CM has gone ‘missing’. But the latest reports say the ED received a letter from Soren’s office claiming he will attend the investigation after 1 PM today.
