Corruption Cases: Is Congress Targeting KTR?

As mentioned by CM Revanth Reddy at the start of his tenure, the Congress government has made it a priority to unearth the corruption and shady fiscal transactions in the BRS government’s tenure. The recent arrest of HMDA director Balakrishna and the ACB notices to senior IAS officer Aravind Kumar have reportedly created tremors in the BRS camp as these seniors are believed to be KTR’s trusted associates while he was holding government positions.

The internal talk from political analysts is that the Congress government is aiming the gun at KTR by placing the gun on the shoulders of Aravind and Balakrishna. Real Estate Regulatory Authority is actively pursuing the case and bringing Aravind and Balakrishna under the radar, who earlier held key positions in KTR’s Municipal ministry. The allegations are that these two officials worked under KTR’s jurisdiction and the fingers are being pointed at KTR himself in these corruption cases.

Congress leaders are alleging that KTR is involved with the corruption acts in BRS’s tenure and the anti-corruption charges against the two mentioned officers is the first step at bringing out KTR’s alleged involvement. Congress leaders allege that hundreds of crores worth of real estate irregularities and disproportionate land settlements could come back at KTR now.

The scheme of things that are suspected is that Aravind ordered the issuance of permissions for illegal real estate ventures and Balakrishna, the HMDA director approved them. That is why the anti-corruption department first caught Balakrishna and investigated him. He reportedly revealed all the necessary details needed to trace the real culprits in the corruption cases. The ACB notice to IAS officer Aravind is the next step in the process. The anticipation is building on whose name Aravind will give to the investigating authorities.
