Andhra Pradesh politics are usually no short of theatrics and the same is to be understood if we look at the recent demand put forth by certain TDP leaders where they strengthened the narrative to have Nara Lokesh as the deputy CM of AP.
However, when this topic was brought up in front of Lokesh himself in Davos, he had a very dismissive demeanor. While he didn’t give a definitive answer, he certainly explained the logistical challenges behind it.
When a national media outlet asked Lokesh to comment on all the political talk about him being promoted as the deputy CM, he replied “I have my hands full at the moment as I’m looking to uphold my duties as the education minister. I first want to reform the education sector and implement the Andhra model of KG-PG education.”
“We are all working for Naidu’s dream of creating a trillion dollar economy for Andhra Pradesh. Amidst this mega dream, every other thing falls short and I’m not bothered about it. I guess it’s all politically settled down for now,” Lokesh said.
The youngster cleverly shifted the dynamic of the discussion and explained his existing duties as a cabinet minister instead of making vague statements about the shift in power. That’s surely one way to avoid a “yes or no” question considering the amount of prominence that this question carries.
