Pics: Modi Inaugurated India’s First Vertical lift Bridge

The 2.08-kilometre-long bridge, costing Rs 550 crore, includes 99 spans and features a 72.5-meter vertical lift section that can rise 17 meters. It was designed with dual rail tracks for future growth. The bridge’s unique vertical lift system, weighing 660 metric tons, was developed using Indian technology, enabling large vessels to pass beneath without affecting train services.
