Bhimavaram DSP Gets Transferred: PK Effect?

A couple of months ago, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made serious allegations on the conduct of Bhimavaram Deputy Superintendent of Police Jayasurya and directed district SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi to submit a detailed report on the officer.

Pawan Kalyan openly alleged that he has been receiving frequent complaints on Jayasurya for blatantly encouraging gambling camps under his nose and also for interfering in civil disputes while misusing the names of political leaders to favour certain individuals.

According to the latest reports, DSP Jayasurya has been transferred out of Bhimavaram after the Director General of Police issued orders to replace him with another officer Raghuveer vishnu. The new incumbent took charge immediately as Jayasurya was directed to report to the police headquarters.

Sources say that the DGP has ordered a thorough enquiry into the complaints received against Jayasurya for taking further disciplinary action on the allegations.

This sudden bureaucratic decision has become a talking point in both the media and political circles because many believe that the decision to transfer Jayasurya is a result of Pawan Kalyan’s intervention into the matter.

As the Janasena supremo usually never makes any allegations without firm evidence, his statements on DSP raised concerns and drew the attention of the State Home Ministry.

Pawan’s remarks also created some debate, at that time because Deputy Speaker and Undi MLA Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju made contrary comments and gave a clean chit on the conduct of Jayasurya after a few days.

However, RRR later clarified that his comments were made in his personal capacity and that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan might have access to information not available to others, and therefore the matter should be awaited.
