In a major relief to students across Andhra Pradesh, Minister Nara Lokesh has ensured the release of long pending fee reimbursement dues for the academic year 2024 to 25. Acting on the directions of the Chief Minister, the state government cleared a total of Rs 1,198 crore under the Reimbursement of Tuition Fee scheme.
This decision brings much needed support to students from BC, EWS and Minority communities who were waiting for their fees to be cleared.
Out of the total amount released:
BC students received Rs 735 crore, including Rs 477 crore and Rs 258 crore.
EWS students including EBC and OC categories were allocated Rs 365 crore.
Minority students received Rs 99 crore.
With this move, the financial burden on thousands of families will reduce significantly. Many students were worried about continuing their education due to pending dues. Now, with the funds being released, there is clarity and relief.
Lokesh has been closely monitoring the issue and pushing for early clearance of arrears. The government had earlier assured that fee dues would be cleared in phases and also made it clear that colleges should not pressure students while payments are pending.
The fee reimbursement scheme plays a key role in helping students from economically weaker backgrounds pursue higher education. By clearing these dues, the government has sent a positive message that student welfare remains a priority.
For many families, this is not just a financial decision but a big support for their children’s future. If payments continue on time, students can focus on their studies without stress.
