JSP Won Only 2: Could Kalyan Have Made a Difference?

After the historic hundred percent strike rate victory in Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, Janasena contested in the Telangana municipal elections with reinvigorated confidence. This is a very progressive step taken by Janasena in Telangana politics, and good things were expected of the same.

However, the party led by Pawan Kalyan had minimal impact in the municipal elections, securing just two seats out of the 300+ it contested, one ward in Nereducharla municipality won by Aaruri Vijaya Lakshmi, and one corporation division in Mancherial Municipal Corporation won by Aggu Sagar.

While this might be some sort of a start for the Pawan Kalyan party in Telangana, the supporters and followers are feeling that the performance could have been much more significant.

They are pointing out that Janasena could have performed marginally well in the municipal elections if Kalyan had come out and campaigned for the candidates.

The point to be noted here is that Pawan Kalyan was indeed scheduled to campaign in Telangana, but had to back out at the last minute due to health complications.

But at the same time, fans and cadre are arguing that JSP could have made the most of the municipal elections if Kalyan had stepped out, considering that this is a crucial election for the party in Telangana after its revival in Andhra Pradesh.
