Pawan Effect: Dashboard To Track Road Works!

One of the principal and fundamental public expectations from any government is the proper layout of roads and adequate maintenance. The previous YS Jagan Government in Andhra Pradesh faced severe complaints about the lack of basic roadway infrastructure and maintenance. This came back to haunt the government.

But the good thing is that things are changing drastically under the NDA administration as a lot of emphasis is placed on laying of new roads and periodic maintenance of old roads.

Now in what could be considered an ambitious and necessary move by Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, a new dashboard is likely to be launched soon in AP to track the road construction works and dedicated timelines for the same.

A new portal is going to be launched by the Panchayat Raj and R and B ministry in Andhra Pradesh. This portal will provide every individual with the facility to know at any time about road construction happening in the state, related development works, and the condition of roads.

According to the briefing to government officials from DCM Kalyan, a definite timeline for completing roads would be needed so that road construction works undertaken under the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department are completed with quality within the definite time.

He instructed the officials to bring a special dashboard into public availability to know about road construction and work progress at any time.

Officials should take responsibility for road construction works. Before starting every work, definitely set a time frame for when it will be completed. Every road work that comes through public requests should be carried out excellently. Full accountability from the department’s side should be visible to the people, he concluded.

We generally see such ideas only in political films, but it appears that Kalyan is determined to make it happen in reality in AP now.
