Revanth Reddy was sworn in as Chief Minister of Telangana on December 7, 2023. By mid-June, he will be finishing half of his term.
But then, Revanth Reddy seems to be burdening people with Price Hikes on this occasion.
Telangana Government is going to steeply increase the Registration Charges of lands and buildings from 28th of this month.
It is reported that the value of agricultural, non-agricultural, and immovable properties is set to be revised by up to 50%.
The majority of the income from the GHMC area comes from the registration of Flats in Apartments.
In this process, the per-square-foot value of flats is likely to increase by up to 75%.
In areas where the current rate ranges from ₹3,500 to ₹4,000 per square foot, it is set to rise to approximately ₹6,000.
The Government is expecting that this hike will fetch it another 1500 Crore revenue per year.
On the other side, the government is also planning to increase the price of liquor prices after June 2nd.
A three-member committee recommended 25-30% hike in the existing liquor prices.
The Government is planning to increase the prices to some extent so as not to get negativity from consumers.
So, at the time, when the Revanth Reddy Government will be finishing half of its term, the Opposition will have the opportunity to point at these price hikes.
In a way, it is a bad timing by the Government.
But then, the Government sources say the Welfare and Development Bills are increasing and the Government has no other go than increasing the prices.
