Better Food, IIT Coaching And More Coming To AP Hostels

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has announced a 10 percent increase in diet charges for students studying in government hostels and Gurukul schools. The revised rates will come into effect from the second quarter of the current financial year. The Chief Minister said students from poor families should receive better food and quality education.

During a review meeting, Chandrababu made it clear that the hike should be implemented without delay, even though officials had suggested postponing it due to financial reasons. He said education is the biggest tool to improve the lives of SC, ST, BC and Minority communities.

Naidu also asked officials to strengthen the Gurukul education system by setting up more residential schools with better facilities. He said these institutions should match the standards of the best private schools. The government has also set aside Rs 100 crore to improve infrastructure in hostels and residential schools.

Chandrababu directed officials to provide special coaching for talented students preparing for competitive exams like IIT, NIT and NEET. He said the best teachers should be appointed to help students achieve top results.

He also suggested involving NRIs, alumni and professionals in supporting welfare hostels and Gurukul schools. According to him, welfare should not stop with financial assistance but should also create better education, skills and employment opportunities for weaker sections.
