Name Missing In SIR List? Here Is The Next Process!

The draft voter list of SIR has been released after completing the digitization process. Authorities removed the names of deceased persons, those who permanently migrated, people whose whereabouts are unknown, and duplicate voters. Anyone facing an issue can submit objections until August 30.

People whose names are missing from the SIR list, those wrongly marked as deceased, or voters who lost their names from both places despite having duplicate entries can apply for corrections. Complaints can be submitted through election officials or directly on the Election Commission website and ECINet mobile app.

Officials are urging every voter to verify the draft list without delay. The final voter list will be the basis for the upcoming local body elections and future Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Checking the list now can help avoid last minute problems.

The verification process also identified thousands of anomaly cases. These include incorrect family details, unrealistic age differences between parents and children, siblings, and grandparents and grandchildren. Such records will be verified by officials.

Those who receive notices must submit any one of the Election Commission approved identity documents before September 29. Documents such as a ration card, driving licence, passport, or pension passbook can be used for verification. Aadhaar alone is not enough for this process.

Officials will verify all submitted documents before publishing the final voter list on October 3. Even if a name appears in the draft list, failing to respond to the verification process could result in the voter name being removed from the final electoral roll.
