CM VIjay’s First Budget: Education Is Top Priority!

The chief minister of Tamil Nadu Thalapathy Vijay has formulated his first full scale budget, barely three months after becoming the CM. The allocations were fairly straightforward in accordance with the promises made by Vijay.

Vijay’s first Budget allocated Rs 812 crore for the gold coin and silk saree scheme, benefiting eligible women across Tamil Nadu as part of its welfare initiatives.

The government further allocated ₹44,527 crore to school education and ₹2,000 crore for free laptops, while expanding gold welfare.

Education and rural development turned out to be the biggest allocations in the Vijay government as ₹52,000 crore and ₹39,000 crore respectively were allocated for the same.

It is evident that the chief minister is focused on basic education from the government behalf and also the rural development as his principles. This strategy is followed by some of the mass leaders in South Indian politics till now, and Vijay is following the same route.

Healthcare sector has been allocated ₹23,000 crore while highways projects were given ₹21,000 crore. There is equal emphasis on the development of urban and rural pockets across the state of Tamil Nadu.

In reaction to the budget that was presented by the Vijay government today, former CM Stalin said there is nothing new about this and added that Vijay is following the exact format as the previous DMK government. He said Vijay is more focused on reels and social media publicity rather than ground level budget allocations.
