Cabinet Rank For Nagababu: Pawan Played It Smart!

Andhra Pradesh politics is starting to heat up consistently, with political exchanges intensifying among the three major parties: the ruling alliance partners TDP and JSP, and the opposition YCP.

So every step that is taken by the NDA government at the fundamental level needs to be carefully orchestrated in order to avoid the misinformation that will later be spread by YCP.

In this connection, the latest decision that has been taken by deputy CM Pawan Kalyan with regard to his brother Naga Babu is a very calculated one.

Kalyan has appointed Naga Babu as the chairperson of the AP Green commission that is intended to develop the forest cover of Andhra Pradesh. Naga Babu has been given cabinet a position as a part of this expansion.

But this cabinet rank position is not to be confused for a ministry. It must be kept in mind that this is an executive position with the cabinet rank rather than a straight position in the Andhra Pradesh ministry. These positions are usually going to top ranked executives.

This is a smart decision from Kalyan to avoid giving cabinet ministry berth to Nagababu after having already made him an MLC already. If he was even included in the ministry, then it would have resulted in commentary that Kalyan is clearly being family politics into mainstream which he himself opposed during first days of Janasena.

So Kalyan has effectively fulfilled the wish of his brother Naga Babu by giving him cabinet rank while also holding back on the ministry position. It could be a matter of time before Kalyan fulfills this ministry position by selecting a BC candidate in his party in order to bring the caste equation as well.

This way, Kalyan has satisfied to different equations with one being his brother Naga Babu, who had been by his side from the start and also playing communal card open by possibly allocating JSP’s ministry position to a BC candidate.
