Hyderabad Ditches ₹1,000 Cr KBR Park Flyover Plan

Earlier, the GHMC and the government of Telangana had come up with the ambitious idea of enhancing the roadway surrounding the KBR Park. It was established that multiple flyovers and underpasses will be constructed to ease the traffic problem here.

Subsequently, the authorities had implemented one way program to assess the traffic movement and they discuss the enhancement project that would cost Rs 1090 crore.

However, the existing one way travel program is so successful that the Hyderabad Metro authorities have decided to continue it further. The idea of the overpass and underpasses construction, which would have costed more than ₹1000 crore has been shelved.

Instead, the authorities have decided to construct an overpass with an elevated platform from the midway point of the KBR Road to Jubilee Hills Metro station. This will be the only significant change to the existing project that is already in existence.

It must be interesting to note that the earlier criticism on the establishment of one way traffic at the KBR Park has completely nullified now. In the first couple of days, the public found it extremely hard to navigate this route in one way traffic.

But things have settled down now, and the public is happily accessing the New change to the KBR Road after years of traffic congestion. The new program is likely to be implemented soon and an official announcement is likely to follow.
