Don’t Insult Me: Mamata To Modi After Meeting Row

The bitter face-off over a review meeting between PM Narendra Modi and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has been all over the news since Friday night. Both BJP and TMC parties are involved in an ugly verbal war over the pictures being shared on the internet.

Finally Bengal CM Mamata has opened up on the total controversy and hit back at PM Modi. “Don’t insult me like this. We have got a landslide victory, is that why you are behaving like this? You tried everything and lost. Why are you quarrelling with us every day?” said Mamata in her first reaction.

In full clarification the Bengal CM added that her schedule was already planned even before PM Modi’s visit. Despite that upon the call from the PM, she reached the airbase and joined the meeting for 15 minutes. “After the quick meeting, I took the permission of the PM and left the place,” added Mamata.

In another revelation Mamata said by the time she reached the place, PM Modi was already into a meeting and she was asked to wait. “PM reached the place earlier and got busy with a meeting and when we arrived, we were not let in. So we waited for an hour. Moreover it was not a review meeting, it was a meeting only to settle political scores and invited the opposition, which includes his party BJP, and the governor Jagdeep Dhankhar,” alleged Mamata.

The Bengal CM was also upset for the fact that right after the PM’s meeting, the Centre had pulled up the Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay and asked him to report at the Department of Personnel and Training office in New Delhi by May 31st.

Looks like this controversy is not going to end anytime soon. We are yet to hear from the PM’s office regarding the #AbsentCM.
