‘Take Vaccine and donate Rs 500 to PM CARES Fund’

Corona Vaccine

There was and is still a big controversy surrounding the PM CARES Fund. Many RTIs were filed against the donations made to the PM CARES but due to reasons best known to PMO, the details were not disclosed and this has become controversial.

Under these circumstances, a Madhya Pradesh minister made shocking comments that everyone who takes the vaccine jab should donate Rs 500 to PM CARES Fund. She is MP Culture minister Usha Thakur and speaking she said, “We know that one dose costs Rs 250. If we have got both doses for free and can afford to donate, we must each put Rs 500 in the fund. This is my request.”

The minister made this comment on the backdrop of PM Narendra Modi announcing free vaccines to everyone 18 years above. The government of India is buying each dose at Rs 250 and since it is advisable to take two vaccine shots, MP minister Usha appealed to people to donate Rs 500.

But are there any takers for the same comments within the BJP? We can start off with Usha herself!
