PV Sindu Creates History; Bags Bronze in Tokyo Olympics

Star Badminton player PV Sindhu lived up to the expectations and has played her full potential in the bronze medal match. In a match between China’s Hebingjiao on Sunday, Sindhu tasted victory and bagged a Bronze medal. Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win two individual Olympics medals and second overall after Sushil Kumar.

In the match, Sindhu won the first set by 21-13. Sindhu won the second set by 21-15.

From the start, Sindhu played aggressively and brought the opponent under pressure. Sindhu ensured to not repeat the mistakes that she committed in the semi-finals against Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu-Ying. Careful smashes and proper judgment on the court helped Sindhu to manage a victory against Hebingjiao.

In the Tokyo Olympics, Sindhu defeated Ksenia Polikarpova, Cheung Ngan, Mia Bichfeldt, and Akame Yamaguchi.

PV Sindhu has bagged her second Olympic medal in her career. She was the first Indian to become the Badminton World Champion and the first Indian woman to earn an Olympic silver medal in 2016.

Fans pinned big hopes on Sindhu that she would bring a Gold medal home but she has bagged a Bronze medal.
