14 Years Record Broken In IPL Today: What’s It?

IPL is a tournament of insane records and superstitions. On that note, we have repeated occurrence that has been happening since 2012 as Mumbai Indians had not won their opening game of the tournament in the last 14 years.

However, this insane record of Mumbai losing the opening game of the tournament, which has been standing for nearly a decade and has finally ended today.

Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in their opening game tonight and they’ve undone a record that has been standing for 14 years. This is a significant and record breaking victory for Mumbai after what has been an extremely unwanted and uninvited record for them as a team.

The best thing about this victory against Kolkata for Mumbai fans is the remarkable performance put up by Rohit Sharma. He had been very lazy and inefficient with the bag for Mumbai over the last four years, and he finally made a positive start to the tournament this year.

Mumbai was poor with the ball in the first innings as they conceded 220 runs against the KKR batsmen, but they came out with excellent intent in the second innings, which ended up winning the game for them.

Mumbai, making such a positive start with the tournament is always a dangerous sign for other teams in the league as stopping this Hardik Pandya team is virtually impossible if they get going.
