Punjab Kings were in a supremely good position in the first half of IPL 2026 as they had won 6 out of the first 7 games. However, they have been in pathetic form in the last few games as they had not won a single game of the last 5.

Punjab face their fifth consecutive defeat against Mumbai Indians last night as Mumbai who had already been eliminated, ended up chasing the target of 200 that was set by Punjab.

Punjab was clueless with the ball as Telugu boy Tilak Varma was on absolute beast mode. He scored a sensational 70 runs from just 32 deliveries as he changed the game on his own.

This would essentially mean that Punjab will have to win the remaining two games, just to qualify for the play-offs. From being in number one position and commanding significant victories against big teams, Punjab have observed the worst possible downfall in IPL 2026.

No other team has lost five games consecutively in the last few weeks and Punjab are making it happen at the worst possible time now.

We have to patiently wait and see if Punjab will be able to make a solid come back from this point in time, which would take a strong team effort. If they fail to qualify for the play-offs, then this would be the worst possible downfall for this team in recent years.
