WHO Warns Pandemic May Get Worse, Worse & Worse

The coronavirus vaccine trails on human groups in Russia, Oxford, and India are giving a major hope amid the rise in the spread of the virus since last weeks post unlocking/reopening in many countries.

While the new cases of coronavirus have been in record numbers after each day, the total new cases just on Sunday were 230,000 worldwide, of which 50 percent of cases are from two countries. US and Brazil are those two countries that have been worst hit.

The World Health Organization warned the countries that the virus spread may get worse if the countries fail to adhere to strict healthcare precautions. The WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the same in a briefing from UN’s Geneva headquarters, that many countries are headed in the wrong direction and the virus remains public enemy number one.

He stressed the need to follow the basics or else the pandemic is going to get ‘worse and worse and worse’. The global infections stand at 13 million and more than half a million deaths so far.

WHO emergencies head Mike Ryan said few places in America need focused lockdowns where the transmission is out of control. He further urged not to reopen the schools until the virus is suppressed completely.
