Sonia Sent Sunscreen, Rahul Not Using It

With elections approaching fast, leaders are on a padayatra spree. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s walkathon, Bharat Jodo Yatra, is underway and he had already covered 1,000 km of the total 3,570 km planned from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, walking 20 km per day.

Walking for long distances would initially give some troubles like blisters but Rahul said that he hadn’t any. When asked which sunscreen was he using to protect himself from tanning, he said he wasn’t using it even when his mother had sent it.

Interacting with his saha yatris, a majority of whom are Congress activists, in his campsite in Karnataka during an evening chat, the Congress leader was seen asking them if they were keeping good health and if they were indeed walking in the yatra. The party workers replied “yes” in unison.

This gossip was known to the public through a video posted by the party’s social media team. The video also showed some of the party workers with their feet bandaged.

It would really be interesting to know about how these leaders can pull out such feats while seldom are they found walking and exercising for more hours. The measures they take and the care the nutritionists and physical fitness trainers accompanying them give them would raise the curiosity of a common man.

Yesterday, Rahul also cast his vote to elect the AICC president, a post for which party veterans Mallikarjuna Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are contesting.
