Elon Musk takes charge, Fired Twitter CEO

Elon Musk

World’s richest man Elon Musk has taken over micro-blogging site Twitter and serving his first blow, he reportedly fired Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal and also other key officials. According to the US media, CEO Parag and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal have left the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco and will not be returning.

In November 2021, Parag Agarwal was appointed as Twitter CEO following the company’s co-founder Jack. Parag could not maintain his CEO position even for 12 months and Musk was ruthless in changing the guard for Twitter. He was persistent from the beginning of the deal.

Not just these two, Musk also fired Twitter’s head of legal policy, Vijaya Gadde who was instrumental in banning former US President Donald Trump from Twitter. These series of terminations have created a huge sensation in Silicon Valley.

A while back, Musk summed up these terminations in a simple tweet. “The Bird Is Freed,” tweeted Musk like a champion of ‘Free Speech.’ Musk has been a big voice for Free Speech and it was the same reason he bid to buy Twitter in a massive deal of $44 billion which is one of the most expensive purchases in history.
