A 30 years old man duped a techie who runs a small IT firm in Hyderabad’s Ameerpet. Going into details, the 30 years old was identified as Karthik Reddy who is a resident of Ankammabasti in Ameerpet. He was introduced to Suryavamsi Prakash who operates GPS Infotech in Ameerpet.
Karthik Reddy approached Suryavamsi for renting a part of the latter’s office. Karthik Reddy claimed himself that he is the son of Anantapur YCP MLC Rammohan Reddy and very soon he would become the chief of YS Sharmila’s YSRTP for Hyderabad region.
Believing Karthik Reddy’s words, Suryavamsi agreed to rent out his office space. Accordingly an agreement of Rs 40,000 advance and Rs 15,000 rent per month was made. However, Karthik Reddy never paid the advance and rent amount and in turn borrowed Rs 86,000 from Suryavamsi. Thereafter Karthik Reddy informed Suryavamsi that they have many assets and properties in the Telugu states but need urgent cash for emergency work. Karthik Reddy even made Suryavamsi talk to Rammohan Reddy (fake person) and borrowed nearly Rs 26.95 Lakh.
The twist in the tale came when Karthik Reddy was not paying the rent and borrowed amount. So Suryavamsi had done his background verification on Karthik Reddy and learned that he was cheated. The victim approached SR Nagar Police on Tuesday and lodged a complaint and he got to know that Karthik Reddy’s family runs such a racket to cheat people in the name of big people from political backgrounds.
The police detained Karthik Reddy and are investigating the matter.
