In a recurring occurrence, another leopard was captured on the revered Tirumala hills on Wednesday late at night, marking the second capture in less than a week and the third leopard captured by forest officials in the past 50 days.
The leopard was discovered confined within a cage that had been set up near the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple.
Following the capture, forest officials are set to relocate the wild cat to the SV Zoo at Tirupati.
Earlier incidents involving leopards in the region include an attack on a boy in June and the recent tragic mauling of a six-year-old girl by a suspected wild animal, likely a leopard, while trekking with her parents on the Alipiri footpath en route to the Tirumala shrine.
