Megastar of Bollywood industry Amitabh Bachan is amazed that Wroclaw city in Poland has named a square with celebrated poet, and the legendary actor’s late father, Harivansh Rai Bachan. The 78-year-old Bachan has posted it on Instagram and Twitter with a picture of the signboard of the square embossed with his father Havinsh Rai Bachan’s name.
Mr.Bachan stated that getting to know about the honour for his was a blessing” on Dussehra. The city council of the Wroclaw, Poland has decided to name a square after my father. There could not have been a more apt blessing on Dussehra than this. “A moment of extreme pride for the family, for the Indian community in Wroclaw and India, Jai Hind (Sic) he captioned in the post.
Amitabh Bachchan has visited Poland in 2019, where his father was honoured in one of the most traditional churches of the country.
Earlier in July, Wroclaw university’s students have paid homage to the veteran Hindi poet by reciting one of his famous poem called ‘Madhushala’. “At one of the oldest churches in Europe, in Poland a prayer for Babuji. So touched and such an emotional moment, his soul must be at peace and love. Thank you, Bishop and the people of Poland, such an honour,” the screen icon he had tweeted earlier.
