Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his ex-wife Dhanashree Verma’s divorce was one of the most talked about celebrity splits this year. The ex-couple was granted a divorce by a family court in Mumbai on March 20.
Following the infamous divorce, a lot was said and written about Dhanashree. Speculations were rife that Dhanashree had been in a secret affair with Pratik Utekar while she was still married to Chahal, which led to their eventual breakup.
However, the choreographer-turned-actress has leveled a major cheating accusation against Chahal in the latest episode of the popular Amazon MX Player reality show, Rise and Fall.
Dhanashree accused Chahal of cheating on her within the first two months of their marriage. When the show’s host, Kubbra Sait, asked her when she realized her marriage wasn’t working, Dhanashree promptly said, “First year. Actually caught him in the second month.”
Chahal and Dhanashree started dating each other when Chahal joined her dance classes during Covid. The couple got engaged in August 2020 and later tied the knot in December 2020. By early 2023, Dhanashree unfollowed Chahal on Instagram and removed all their pictures, kicking off speculations about cracks in their wedding.
Dhanashree also clarified that she never demanded Rs 60cr as alimony from Chahal, as was speculated during their divorce proceedings. The Mumbai family court had ordered Chahal to pay an alimony of Rs 4.75 crores to Dhanashree. Chahal is currently said to be dating RJ Mahvash, while Dhanashree is gearing up for her acting debut in Tollywood.
