Another entrepreneur wants to move out of India ! Here is why ?

Since a long time, entrepreneurs across the country have been complaining of the non-business friendly taxation laws. There has been a mass exodus of businesspersons in different streams to several foreign countries in the last few years because of the privileges provided to taxpayers.

Amid this ongoing trend, another entrepreneur based out in Bengaluru has vowed to move out of India in 2026 due to the incompatible taxation rules, which he feels treat taxpayers without any respect. His comments on how taxpayers are treated in our country has raised a significant debate in the business circles.

In his recent LinkedIn post, Bengaluru based entrepreneur Rohit Shroff, who heads a content marketing group Aflog Group, announced that he has decided to abandon the much hyped ‘Building in India’ dream due to the gruelling tax environment and also the way tax system treats compliant payers with suspicion.

Rohit candidly revealed that despite he genuinely paying 4 Crores in taxation for the last financial year, the system has been targeting his company with suspicious queries. He expressed frustration in the manner the minor percentage of taxpayers are mistreated and the remaining population are handed over benefits for securing their votes.

He described the ordeal how GST teams and Income Tax authorities relentlessly pestering the taxpayers with no acknowledgement and zero tangible benefits. He stated that businesses are forced to hire dedicated teams just to manage monthly GST, quarterly TDS and annual filings. He is not happy with the fact that fighting the system costs more than submitting the returns.

He further reminded how many Indians run several businesses across the world without any issues. He lamented that many entrepreneurs are leaving India only because the system doesn’t reward growth but penalises them.
