The standard practice of law across India is that the victim will have to physically visit the police station and file an FIR after explaining the problem to the concerned police officers. But Telangana police is going to create history by imposing a new regulation that would eliminate this process.
According to the latest communication made by the Telangana Police department, the police officials will come to the residences of certain victims and file the FIR then and there.
As confirmed by the Telangana Police department, the Police will register cases by coming directly to the victims in special cases. Be it crimes against women and children, along with pocso, child marriage, ragging and such incidents, a single phone call from the victims is enough and the police officer will come to the victims themselves.
This is the first time in history that the police department will allow FIR to be filed outside the police station, and this decision has been taken by the department collectively.
This new regulation is going to be particularly helpful in the cases of the victims who are subject to child molestations, marital abuse, and primarily crimes against women and children.
This is going to be one of the reformative decisions implemented by state police and could be expanded further across India based on its merits.
It is good to see Telangana police department, taking several such reformative measures which are clearly in the best interests of the common public.
