After Techie, Kerala Teen Goes Missing During A Trek In Karnataka

Even before people could forget the missing case of GS Sharanya, a woman techie from Kerala, in Karnataka’s Thadiyandamol, highest peak in Kodagu, Karnataka, a student from Kerala, Sri Nanda, went missing during a family trip to the Chandradrona Hills in Karnataka.

A student of Class 10, Nanda was reportedly on a hike with nearly 40 relatives to a tourist place on the hills. Police are still searching for her even after 24 hours of her missing.

Police said that on April 7, her relatives could not find her around 5.30 pm. Her family members searched for her continuously and on failing to trace her, approached the police on April 8.

On receiving a complaint from KG Shashikumar, one of Nanda’s family members, police launched the search operation in the deep ghat sections in the hills. Reportedly, police are involved in the search operations even during the night. Nanda’s family members showed the police a video in which she was present.

On April 2, Sharanya, 36, went missing while trekking down. She lost contact with the group and had to spend four days in a dense forest. Before police could find and rescue her, she had to live on water alone.

She went along with 12 people for trekking when the incident happened. During an interview after being rescued, she said that she survived on just three litres of water on all the four days when she was in the dense forest.
