United States president of Donald Trump is one of the most unpredictable global leaders as no one can predict what is going to be his next move. Now he has made a shocking comment on India, while earlier having referred to the country as a close ally.
In his elaborate post on social media, Donald Trump shared a lengthy letter which had highly problematic comments against India and several other countries.
“A baby here becomes an instant citizen and then they bring in their entire family from China, or India or some other hellhole on the planet.” The letter that was posted by Donald Trump on social media read.
In what could be clearly considered a social rhetoric attack, trump describes Indian and Chinese immigrants as “gangsters with laptops” who have “stepped on our flag”
He attacks the idea of automatic citizenship for children born in the US to non-citizens, calling for a national referendum instead of leaving it to the courts.
In the post, he claims the current system is being exploited through “birth tourism” and welfare abuse, and argues that the Constitution is outdated in the context of modern migration.
This did not end here either. Trump further mentioned in this letter “I used to be a great supporter of Indians in India until I opened my eyes.”
On one hand, Donald Trump had been drastically, losing the approval rating before the upcoming midterms. The anticipated and hyped Make America Great Again campaign is also genuinely losing steam. This could have potentially warranted Trump to share this highly offensive message on social media to appease the local Americans.
But considering the drastically unpredictable mindset and thought process of Trump, it should not be too much of a surprise if he comes out in the next conference and calls India, a good friend.
