Even Hyderabadi Ghee Is Not Safe!

The food safety authorities in Hyderabad have been in overdrive mode for the last few months as they have been extensively, checking the standards of food establishment across the city.

Apart from inspecting the famous hotels and restaurants across Hyderabad, the good thing is that the safety authorities have been inspecting the manufacturing plants as well.

Now the latest news is that the safety authorities in Hyderabad have raided a plant that has been producing fake and adulterated ghee in the name of hundred percent pure product.

Acting on credible intelligence and actionable tip-offs received from the public, joint enforcement teams carried out simultaneous inspections at a total of 130 establishments, comprising 39 ghee manufacturing units and 91 ghee-selling outlets.

During the extensive inspections, the teams unearthed large-scale adulteration operations where spurious, substandard ingredients and hazardous, unauthorised chemical substances were being systematically mixed to produce synthetic ghee.

Earlier it was the case of fabricated and adult Paneer that was cracked down by the Hyderabad authorities, and now it is a turn of ghee. Such activities need to be dealt with utmost severity by the authorities and rightly so too.
