Finally, Hyderabad Bans Fake Paneer!

Analogue Paneer

The food safety authorities in Hyderabad had been working overtime when it comes to identifying and establishing unhygienic food substances in the city. One of the main detrimental factor associated with this has been the production of analog paneer.

Analogue paneer is a non-dairy product designed to resemble the original paneer that is prepared in houses and produced by diary makers.

Instead of relying entirely on milk constituents, such products may use non-dairy ingredients to replicate the texture and characteristics of paneer. This is reportedly extremely bad to a human body upon consumption.

The concern for consumers is that a product sold as paneer may not have the same nutritional composition as conventional dairy paneer. This is particularly relevant for people who depend on paneer as a source of protein.

Hyderabad food safety authorities had been taking action on several such establishments across the city in the recent past.

And now, finally Telangana has banned the manufacture, processing, packing, storage, distribution and sale of non-dairy, artificial or analogue paneer across the state for one year with effect from September 10, 2026.

This is the need of the hour in order to contain the manufacture of this fake Paneer in Hyderabad and also parts of the state. This is vegetarian lovers who depend on Paneer for their protein intake.
