Dhiraj Bommadevara has created history by winning gold at the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico. The 23-year-old became the first Indian male archer to achieve this rare feat.

Dhiraj defeated Japan’s Nakanishi Junya 6-5 in a thrilling shoot-off to clinch the gold medal. The prestigious event was held in Saltillo, Mexico, from September 12-13.

With this victory, Dhiraj became the first Indian men’s recurve archer to win gold at the Archery World Cup Final. It is a landmark moment for Indian archery and a major achievement for the young archer.

With the Asian Games 2026 now less than a week away, Dhiraj Bommadevara will be expected to carry this momentum forward and complete another unfinished job for India.
