Impeachment Resolution Introduced Against Trump

The House Democrats had been planning to introduce an impeach resolution against Donald Trump for his role in riots at the US Capitol, and the formal impeachment resolution is introduced today.

House Democrats introduced their resolution to impeach Trump charging him with incitement of insurrection. The impeachment will go for a vote this week. With this resolution by House Democrats, Trump becomes the first president to be impeached twice. The impeachment resolution focuses on Donald Trump’s false claims that he won the election and his provoking speech to his supporters before the US Capitol seized by the mob.

The impeachment resolution also underlines Trump’s pressurizing call to Georgia Republican Secretary of state asking him to ‘find’ enough votes for Trump to win the state. The resolution says President Trump endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of Government, and he also threatened the integrity of the democratic system, interfered with the peaceful transition of power.

It also mentioned the 14th Amendment that prohibits any person who has engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States from holding office. Earlier, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi confirmed to bring an impeachment resolution this week unless VP Mike Pence movies to invoke the 25th Amendment with cabinet majority to remove Trump from his power. The impeachment resolution will be moved to the floor vote on Tuesday, while the Democrats urge Pence to respond within 24 hours.
