Who Took First Vaccine In India?

The vaccine for Covid-19 has rolled out across all states in India. AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria has taken the first shot at the hospital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called this a pride moment for the nation.

“India begins the world’s #LargestVaccineDrive. This is a day of pride, a celebration of the prowess of our scientists and hardwork of our medical fraternity, nursing staff, police personnel and sanitation workers. May everyone be healthy and free from illness,” tweeted Modi.

In Telangana, health minister Eatala Rajendra has not received the first shot of the vaccine as he said he is following PM’s instructions. He said the vaccine is now administered only to front-line health workers. Around 139  vaccine spots were placed all over the state.

And in AP, CM YS Jagan has done the honours. AP has received 4.99 lakh doses of vaccine including 4.77 lakh doses of Covishield and 20,000 doses of Covaxin. Around 332 vaccine spots are placed in the state.
