The Internet has made it simple and seamless to visit an online retail store, browse through its goods by the dozen, add one or two products of your choice to a shopping cart, and click to buy. With these convenient factors for people to purchase products, there comes certain scams and gambling as well.

In a similar vein, e-commerce also has tempting discounts and cashback options. But least do we experience wrong price displays. The Amazon India recently made such a huge goof-up with one of their products on Monday and the news is making netizens fury.

Amazon reportedly listed a high-end Toshiba 1.8 ton air conditioner for Rs 5,900. The price looks too good to be true. But the e-commerce giant made a blunder by offering a 94% discount on the air conditioner. Also, to much goodness, it showed an option of monthly instalment of only Rs 278.

After a few customers placed an order out of enthusiasm, the error was soon rectified and the Toshiba 5-star inverter AC has been listed for Rs 59,000, at a 20% discount from the original price. Alas! Amazon gave its share of broken dreams to its customers.

Well, this is not new as Amazon took the blame recently for sending a pack of Parle-G biscuits to a Delhi man in place of a remote control car. In another case of late, a woman received a package from Amazon which she never ordered. She received 2 bars of lye soap and a book of riddles for kids. When called Amazon, customer care suggested she keep the items or throw them away. The lady wrote on Facebook, “I told them next time please send me a widescreen TV”.
