Fresh after the success of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali, we have another magnum-opus to coming from South-India and it has Shruti Haasan playing both queen and warrior roles. Read on!
With Baahubali doing its part by beating all the expectations on International arena, other Indian filmmakers down are planning to go big, similarly. Taking the cue from Baahubali, Kollywood director Sundar C is coming up with a historic film 'Sangamithra' starring Shruti Haasan, Jayam Ravi and Arya. Other technicians of this movie include musician AR Rahman and art director Sabu Cyril.
Taking it a step further, the makers of Sangamithra have launched the movie at Cannes Film Festival-2017. The entire cast and crew of Sangamithra flew to France for the mega event. An official statement from producers said, Sangamithra is a visual extravaganza set in 8th century AD. It's already known that Shruti underwent a rigorous training for 'sword fighting'.
The statement further adds, 'It's a tale of protagonist Sangamithra, whose beauty is unparalleled, and her journey to save her kingdom. It's the story of many kingdoms, many equations, many relationships told in an ambitious, larger than life, visually extravagant manner. Sangamithra is aimed at the being the crown jewel of Tamil films, an ode to the oldest language in the world. While this is a piece of fiction, there are unexplored chapters in India's ancient History which will be opened through Sangamithra in the most visually beautiful manner. Sangamithra is a film which will be told in two parts.'
The new boundaries opened by Baahubali will eventually help many such high-budget films made in India. On other hand, Allu Aravind's 500-Crore Ramayana trilogy with co-producers is in pipeline while Mohanlal starrer 'Randamoozham' has already created a big flutter with announcement. However, all thanks to big Baahubali, the film stopped fears of budget factor and many such genres coming our way.
