‘In diverse India, South Indians Look Like Africans’

The Indian telecommunications Engineer Sam Pitroda, who holds high respect in society, has sparked a controversy by making some racist comments. Today, he made a comment that Indians in different parts look like different ethnic groups.

In an interview with The Statesman, Pitroda termed India as a democratic country and the people look diverse.

“We could hold together a country as diverse as India — where people in the East look like Chinese, people in the West look like Arab, people in the North look like maybe White, and people in the South look like Africans. It doesn’t matter. We are all brothers and sisters,” Pitroda said during the interview.

Although Pitroda’s comments are not direct remarks, the comparison he drew has disappointed everyone. Already, people on social media are calling him out and demanding an apology for making these comments.

Congress communications in-charge Jairam Ramesh already mentioned that their party dissociates itself from the analogies drawn by Pitroda and even BJP leaders also started criticizing him on the same.
