Why ticket prices must be hiked: Pawan provides clarity

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan attended the pre-release event of Ram Charan’s Game Changer in Rajahmundry today evening. In his long speech, Pawan made strong comments about movies and politics in Telugu states. He clarified in detail on why ticket prices should be hiked for films as per the request of producers.

Pawan categorically stated that ticket rates are like demand and supply and defended the move to give hikes because of the soaring budgets due to the increasing standards and market of Telugu cinema in recent years. He said the government benefits in the form of GST on hiked ticket prices.

He further added that there is a false narrative in the public about ticket prices and cited the example of his film ‘Bheemla Nayak’ which suffered due to unfair reduction of prices.

The Janasena supremo categorically stated NDA government has no prejudice towards any film star though many of them didn’t support them in elections. He strongly asserted the government of AP has no intention to give a political colour to movies. “No Politics should seep into cinema, it should be treated as a separate entity ” said Pawan.

Pawan also pointed that only those who make films and aware about its difficulties and complexities are eligible to talk about film industry but not politicians. He further took a sly dig at political parties which demanded heroes to come and meet them to request with folded hands for incentives for their films. He assured that the NDA government won’t resort to low standards and promised full support from NDA government.

He reminded how Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu respected Telugu film industry and helped for its development. He said CBN never created any problems to Tollywood during his four tenures as CM.
