Telangana Cinematography Minister’s Big Warning to Pawan Kalyan

A seemingly unintentional and non-provocative comment from Andhra Pradesh, deputy CM Pawan Kalyan on his trip to Godavari last week has created an unnecessary controversy now. The statement from Kalyan suggesting that Telangana leaders always praise Konaseema’s greenery and that “perhaps a lot of dishti was cast on it” has not gone down well with the Telangana Congress leadership.

Kalyan didn’t directly accuse Telangana politicians of casting dishti on Godavari’s coconut plantations, but his indirect remark has already triggered political criticism.

Recently, it was the case of Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy, who gave a serious warning to Pawan Kalyan and asked him to leave Hyderabad and move to Vijayawada if he loves Godavari so much. This was an unusually strong reprimand on Kalyan who earlier made that comment casually.

And just when everyone thought this saga would be over, it is back in the mix now. In fact, congress ministers and MLC have reacted on this matter, and they too had sharp words against Kalyan.

Telangana cabinet minister Vakiti Srihari said Pawan Kalyan will have to face the consequences in the future if he doesn’t apologise immediately. He advised Kalyan to refrain from doing such a loose talk in the future. He pointed out that Kalyan came to this point in his career by using the resources in Telangana and he must keep that in mind.

Incidentally, Telangana cinematography minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has also reacted on this matter as he too threatened Kalyan that his films wouldn’t be allowed to screened in Telangana, if he does not apologise for his earlier comments immediately. This verbal reprimand coming from the cinematography minister himself carries a lot of significance.

This was followed by another provocative reaction from Congress MLC Balmuri Venkat. He threatened to assault Pawan Kalyan on the roads if he doesn’t leave Telangana immediately. This MLC stated that Kalyan’s films will not be allowed to release in Telangana either. “If Kalyan does not apologise, immediately, we will thrash him on the roads.”

Considering the kind of sharp reactions from Telangana Congress leaders, it appears that Kalyan’s comments clearly got blown out of proportion. But the point that must be noted here is that this unintentional comment does not warrant so much reprimand.

So it is better if both entities solve this matter amicably as this seemingly inconsequential situation is starting to get out of hand.
