Allu Cinemas’ Wall Of Fame Shamed On Social Media

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated Allu Cinemas in Kokapet this evening. One of the four screens features Dolby Cinemas which is only the third in India. It is also the world’s third largest Dolby Cinema and India’s largest.

The launch event was telecast live but one video from the event made sure Allu Cinemas was in news for not a good reason.

There is a wall in the balcony of the lounge where there are pictures of the great directors of all Indian languages.

We can see the pictures of SS Rajamouli, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Prashant Neel, Rishab Shetty, Vetrimaran, Atlee, Maniratnam, Trivikram, Sukumar, Raj Kumar Hirani, and others.

We do not know if there is another wall with more photos that is not captured by cameras. But the choice of these pictures in the video we have has come under criticism.

Some are questioning why legendary Telugu directors like Dasari, Raghavendra Rao, K Vishwanath, RGV, and others do not feature on the wall when some directors who have pictures for just a couple of commercial blockbusters.

Some are asking how Shankar can be missed if the idea is just about commercial directors of this era. Some are questioning why Puri Jagannadh and Srinu Vaitla were not present when they delivered some modern-day classics.

Many are criticizing that the list is Allu Arjun’s favorites whom he is working and whom he wants to work in future. They are questioning how he can forget Boyapati and Puri Jagannadh who gave mass following to Allu Arjun.

Many are pointing out that Atlee is completely misfit but is present only because he is doing a film with Allu Arjun right now.

Social Media Junta are dissecting the choice of pictures and are questioning why some are on the list and some are not in the list.

This is completely unavoidable. Instead Allu Cinemas should have featured the pictures of legendary directors of the past. When you have pictures of the directors who are currently present, things like this are bound to happen.

Allu Arjun may have intentionally or unintentionally hurt some directors with this. We have to wait and see if Bunny’s team drops a clarification soon before the damage goes too far.
